In today's educational world, we do a LOT of typing. Teachers type feedback on student projects, students type responses to questions.
Mote is a Chrome extension (and phone app) that allows you to record your voice within pretty much all of Google's apps. Let me provide you with some practical examples:
Speak your comments on a student's Google document rather than typing it - faster for you, easier to understand for the student
Have a student record an audio note on each slide of a slideshow giving a more detailed description
Asynchronous conversations in Google Classroom
Listening comprehension quizzes in Google Forms
Foreign language practice (ask the students to record themselves speaking the language)
If you'd like to test it out, first download the Mote extension and then take a look at this Google Document - you can see the Mote voice comment on the side. You have comment access, so go ahead and feel free to install the extension and try recording your own!
